Training
Lisa began riding as a child with nationally
recognized Hunter/Jumper trainer Wayne Carroll. As
an adult she continued with Dressage coaching by
FEI competitors, nationally acclaimed clinicians,
Olympian Lendon Grey, and British clinician/author
Mary Wanless. She also gleaned teaching tools from
auditing clinics with Olympians Carol Lavell and
Michael Poulin, and through scribing for
International Dressage Judge, Max Gahwyler.
Lisa is the first U.S. coach accredited in Mary
Wanless's "Ride With Your Mind"TM technique. Lisa co-teaches with Mary semi-annually.
She recertifies her accreditation every 2 years in the U.K. at Wanless's home base.

"Instructors of Lisa's caliber are few and far between. I've not yet experienced anyone to equal her combination of knowledge, patience, intellect, communication and personality. Lisa is a gem!"
Barbara H.--Lewes, DE

Experience
From 1986 to 1993 Lisa May headed the
instruction program at the largest Parks
Department Stable in NYC. In 1993, Lisa
opened Federalsburg's Idylwild Farm. She
has taught adults and children of all levels of
experience, confidence, training and talent on
horses of varying breeds and backgrounds.
Lisa teaches at home and at private farms in
the region and travels to coach clinics.

"Teaching horses and riders is your gift. I feel so much more confident now. You always find a way to encourage and explain things. You are so positive and patient." Sharon S.-- Felton
"Lisa has a special talent for relating to riders, explaining her expectations clearly and easily. They respond and perform their best, receiving her warm encouragement and support."

Matt Taimuty, CJF
Since 1971 Matt has been a successful
competitor initially as a Western and
Endurance rider and later as a Three
Day Event and Dressage rider. Matt has
trained with eventers Jim Wofford,
Mike Plumb and Denny Emerson,
dressage instructors Major Anders
Lindgren and Lilo Fore and horse
trainers Linda Tellington-Jones
and John Lyons and Mark Rashid.
Matt's background has helped him develop an
approach that addresses the individual
learning process of both horse and rider. Matt
has coached Pony Clubs in California, South
Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware.

"Different from a lot of jumping and
cross country teachers, Matt
incorporates the essential dressage
basics into teaching the control and
mastery of jumping".
